A Map of the Language of Stress Corpus

Overview

The Language of Stress is an independent, value-primitive theory of consciousness developed by Joshua Craig Pace. This index is the canonical listing of its deposited records. Where a project website, repository, or profile page lists the corpus, that listing is a convenience copy of this one, and where they disagree, this document is correct.

The index covers the core theory documents (the main theoretical paper, the standalone statement of the prioritization regress, the canonical axioms, the empirical predictions register, the scope-boundary document, and the book), the three framework comparisons (predictive processing, integrated information theory, global workspace theory), the worked examples, the essays, and the archival material. Each entry states what the document is about rather than what it currently argues, and links a base DOI that resolves to the most recent version of that record; the one record held on PhilArchive, which assigns no DOI, is linked by its PhilArchive record.

It also states, in one place, the standing of three different kinds of claim the corpus makes: the philosophical argument, which can be evaluated now and whose load-bearing inference is identified; the research program, which is specifiable and incomplete, with several predictions waiting on a measure of archetype rigidity that does not yet exist; and the conditional consequence for the Hard Problem, which follows only if the philosophical argument holds. It records what is deliberately not in the corpus, and notes one document deposited earlier and since withdrawn from it.

Intended as a navigation and orientation document rather than as an argument. Cite the individual documents rather than this index.
